Patricia “Pat” Duncan is a native of Denver, Colorado and owner of Pat Duncan Photography is debuting her first published book A Defining Moment; a 184 page hard-cover, coffee table pictorial/historical with over 300 never-before-seen photographs and historic speeches which chronicles, then, Senator Barack Obama historic campaign journey from a rising star in the Democratic Party to the nation’s first African American president.
Pat Duncan is a contributing photographer for Denver Weekly Newspaper, Denver Urban Spectrum, Urban League of Metro Denver and AskMissA.com an on line magazine and on occasion, special assignment for the Denver Post.
Pat Duncan followed her passion for photography by documenting her own events, and soon became recognized as a true professional in the field; optimizing her access and opportunities to develop an impressive portfolio which includes material for A Defining Moment.
A Defining Moment was inspired by the advice of her deceased sister The Honorable Vikki Buckley, Colorado's first African American and twice elected Secretary of State: “If you have a dream and a goal, you must go after it! Stays focused and accept the good with the bad. You may get knocked back two steps before you can take one step forward, but don't quit! If you work hard and keep God first in your life, you will persevere."
Pat Duncan is CEO and president of IJABA Event Planning Inc., which she formed in 2001; IJABA means “A Wished Fulfilled” in Swahili.
Pat Duncan resides in Denver, Colorado with her husband Kevin, a captain with the Denver Fire Department, and has two adult daughters.
